Legaline Platform launches Meta Legal Space, an AI mock-trial tool for law students
Legaline Platform announced Meta Legal Space at the Dubai AI Festival. Trainees argue cases before an AI judge. The company calls it the first of its kind in the Middle East and North Africa.
What was announced
An-Nahar reported on 26 October 2026 that Legaline Platform had announced Meta Legal Space, an AI-powered mock trial for law students and legal trainees. The launch took place at the Dubai AI Festival, held on 26 and 27 October 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre.1,2,3,4
The company describes Meta Legal Space as the first AI-powered mock trial platform in the Middle East and North Africa. No independent verification of that claim is given.1,2,3,4
How a session works
Trainees argue before an AI judge, with an AI clerk, AI witnesses and AI experts. Opposing counsel can be an AI or a classmate. Before starting, a trainee chooses litigation, arbitration or mediation, and a legal framework: UAE onshore, DIFC or ADGM.1,2,3,4
Each AI witness has its own background and manner. Each also holds back one fact that the trainee must draw out through questioning, and its answers stay within the case file.1,2,3,4
After each session trainees receive a performance report. A licensed practitioner from the Legaline network can act as judge and score the session live. The exact scoring areas of the report are described differently in the published accounts: one lists four areas plus separate prosecution and defense win rates, others list three areas plus a leaderboard.1,2,3
Cases and access
The launch library covers commercial, civil and labor cases, including supply-contract breach, construction defects and unfair dismissal. Practicing lawyers write the cases, and each is rated for difficulty and duration.1,2,3,4
Legaline says the platform is offered to law schools and legal training providers across the region, and that student registration is free. The company's existing AI tools include a research assistant covering 35 legal areas.1,2,3,4
The company's stated aim
Legaline CEO Dmitry Grinik said the tool moves a lawyer's first cross-examination to a place where mistakes are allowed.2,3,4
What could not be verified
- The claim that Meta Legal Space is the first AI mock-trial platform in MENA: it is the company's own description, with no independent verification.
- What the performance report scores: the exact criteria are not clearly disclosed, with four areas listed in one account and three in others.
- How many users, schools or trainees use the platform, and whether any law school has adopted it.
- How well the AI judge and witnesses perform, and whether the training improves outcomes.
- Which AI models power the platform.
